Sally is a primary school teacher with a postgraduate degree in Social Science. She has taught in both Australia and England and has worked in child protection and family support, primarily in Southern Queensland. Sally was introduced to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) in 2007 and became an associate trainer through Cornell University in 2009. She has also managed TCI/F training for foster carers and employees within her previous organization.
Passionate about supporting children in both home and school settings, Sally adapted her teaching approach to incorporate TCI’s strategies for addressing pain-based behaviour. She found that these strategies helped improve not only student engagement and attendance but also academic progress.
Sally earned her recertification in 2024 and joined the TACT team as a Field Instructor. Through her work, she continues to support others in implementing TCI principles, aiming to create a positive, understanding environment for children facing challenges.
